About Me And ROL

Rah’s Open Lid is a free depository of books of interest posted for postery and use by the general netizen visitor. A good alternative to google and other search engines is Cynay. Additionally, you can find free resources at Z-Library, Open Library, Anna’s Archive, Global Grey Books, OpenMaktaba, PDF Drive, Unblockit, Scared-Texts, Kalamullah, Project Gutenberg, Marxists Internet Archive, A Free Library of Marxist Thought, and Internet Archives. There also comprehensive lists on Reddit at FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH and Piracy: Sail the high seas.

Personal poetry and artwork will be migrated here from other sources slowly as a general database of my writings as a means to consolidate everything in one place. Blog posts may or may not make it on here on a regular basis. Music centered reviews and think pieces are not out of the question as well.

The name was taken from my late brother’s magazine which he named Sid’s Open Lid. Please check out my brother’s work whenever you have the chance. It’s also my official sister site along with Communities Evolving which is a blog page dedicated to tackling global BIPOC centric sociopolitical topics for discussion.

My social media presence can be found on Threads, Instagram, TikTok, and deviantart. If anyone’s curious, the following is an interview that a former music journalist collegue did with me in 2012: 1,668 Words With Sarah Elgindy.

In addition to my work on that specific project off-shoot, I also wrote some articles for the main project’s blog which has been removed during their site’s remodeling work within the past few years. I also founded the online music magazine named Blood or Love and co-founded the record label Domestic Genocide both of which are no longer active.

The following are a list of articles that I have written during my time as co-founder of Mideast Tunes

Older Versions of My Blog

The name Domestic Genocide was originally the name for my first blog that I started building during 2009-2010 which ran on the simple machines forum software and a theme that I heavily modified to suite my own purposes. Once it was decided to use the name for the now defunked record label, I renamed it The Abyss and it ran off of an earlier version of WordPress software. The gallery below has some images from earlier versions of my blogs which I created myself using open source fonts and graphics while some came from scanned artwork from David Mack‘s Kabuki graphic novels.
